" THE CHESTNUT TREE "

Because it had rained most of the day, when the sun eventually came out after 17.00, we rushed out with Phoebe for a walk, avoiding the long grass and staying on the road. We came back via the churchyard and noticed that the chestnut 'fruits' are well advanced!!

Here we are in August still, and it feel more like Autumn already. Whatever is happening to the weather?

One thing about the rain though, we had a very good rehearsal of all the songs we are performing on Saturday. It will be over an hour of Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Abba songs with a few others thrown in for good measure. The brief was 'happy' songs so that's what we will do. All we need now is no rain and not cold!!

Matthew has thoroughly enjoyed his longer weekend, and once again, not looking forward to returning him tomorrow then going onto work.

But at least it will be a shorter week.
