Dorchester and Chesil Beach.
I've always really enjoyed Thomas Hardy's poetry (I've never really had much time for the novels though). Dorchester is big on Thomas Hardy. We drank afternoon tea in his favourite tea room, saw the reconstruction of his study in the local museum, purchased a book of his poetry (the same book I had about 25 years ago...)and visited his statue.
Then, onto Chesil Beach, which, apparently, you're not supposed to take the stones from!! (unlike Ian McEwan did).
