But, then again . . . . .

Worbey and Farrell.

We went into town today to see a pair of local lads at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Worbey and Farrell, a four hands - one piano act formerly known as Katzenjammer. I think they must have had copyright issues with theiract's original title as they have reverted to using their own names - how mundane. They are wonderful musicians who don't take themselves too seriously, an attitude too which I can relate, though my skills on the piano are best ignored (a feat that escaped Mrs TD). W&F appeared on ITV’s "This Morning" programme a couple of years ago and this is a link to the YouTube clip of them, introduced by Eamonn Holmes who insisted on repeatedly mispronouncing Worbey's name - well, I suppose he is Irish. It is worth watching.

The single piano duet format lends itself to the humorous approach as it is normal for the right hands to carry the tune while the left ones deal with the harmony in a lower register; it is, therefore, natural for the two right hands to be adjacent, as are the left hands, resulting in a conflict between the two players.

The performance was in a ballroom and the blip is a montage of the chandelier there with a ticket and illuminated sign. Officially, photography wasn't permitted so this was the best that I dared.

As our bus arrived in Princes Street, we were treated to a tropical storm that has been reported by several local blippers; I had taken an umbrella, a precaution that Mrs TD didn't consider necessary. She dried out in a cafe over a lunch of tepid coffees and a shared baguette. Before the performance, we went along to a tile emporium and, not only did we manage to choose the kitchen floor tiles, but we committed ourselves by securing them with a deposit. Having agreed on the worktop surface yesterday, we are making good progress and are now back on speaking terms. I no longer need to sleep in the garage.
