Water Wednesday: Condensation
We were abruptly awakened about 2:30 am last night by one of the loudest claps of thunder I've ever heard. It was accompanied by numerous flashes of lightning, and lasted for two to three hours. You might think that there is nothing unusual about thunderstorms, but they are quite rare in the particular area of southern California where we live. It was a spectacular show of nature, but I was unable to fall back asleep. We received more than half an inch of rain (badly needed), and this is a picture of the clouds loaded with condensed water ready to pour down on us again. We also had large hail, another rarity. I thought this fit the bill for the Water Wednesday challenge.
