Duluth is Minnesota's second city (if you count Minneapolis-Saint Paul as one entity). It's a picturesque place, situated at the very western tip of Lake Superior, on a steep hillside overlooking a natural harbor. Iron from the interior flowed through the port and made it a major player in the Great Lakes trade in the early 1900's. The city has tailed off a bit since then, but it remains an important port for the state and a beautiful place to take a day trip.
This is a shot of the city's famous Lift Bridge and a lighthouse near the entrance to the inner harbor.
