Textures on Tuesday

I photographed various textures on the nearby farm and combined them through Photoshop. This farm was still running a dairy herd when we moved into the village 20 odd years ago. Since then it has ceased to function, as the three brothers gradually retired and moved away. It has since been used as a storage/dumping ground by a local builder, although a Stockman uses the farm buildings and the fields for his beef cattle.

The old farmyard is a mixture of peeling paint, rubble and even an old car - and plenty of mud. I find it quite sad that the farming community in the village is virtually gone for ever. The land is not of a high quality for agriculture and I suspect the famers are just waiting for the day when the land is granted planning permission for building houses - far more lucrative.

I have tried to capture the impression of neglect and decay in this environment.
