This may look a bit odd? As if I'd got a cow in a studio? But it was actually taken on my walk around Tittesworth Reservoir, on the southern edge of the Peak District. The cow's body is quite a dark brown and it's face was creamy. So from this angle it's body just disappeared and seemed to create a background.
I'd decided I needed to get a bit more exercise than my very flat, circular route around the lake at Trentham Gardens. I wanted to test out my knee as I've not really been walking since I damaged it a couple of weeks ago. The complete walk around the reservoir takes about 2 hours and there are a few ups and downs but my knee was fine. I still can't kneel down properly and it's painful when I try, so I've still got an appointment next week to see a consultant - we'll see what he advises.
The walk was really lovely and I timed it well as the afternoon's weather just got better as I progressed.
I did see the little egret that Shyflamingo, a fellow local blipper, saw earlier this week, but I don't have the right lens to take a shot like hers. The cormorants were resting on one of the islands with their wings outstretched enjoying the sunshine. I did get a few shots of a green lacewing too. I even saw a herd of deer just grazing in a farmer's field. I thought they were skinny cows at first!
