Reflections
Tuesday
When I left home this afternoon to go into Fontainebleau, I little thought I would be bringing you a shot like this. It had been raining steadily all morning, and was still raining, though maybe a little less. I didn't really feel like going out at all, but I needed to go into Fontainebleau to buy a gift. When I got to the shop I discovered it was still closed for lunch (it was past 2 pm!). The rain had almost stopped at this point, so I thought I would go for a little walk around the chateau gardens to pass the time. As I walked, the weather gradually began to clear, and by the time I had got around to the far side of the Étang des Carpes, this was the scene that greeted me. I have taken a similar view before, and I had been planning on showing a different part of the chateau or gardens, but I couldn't resist this shot with the clouds reflected in the water. I then continued my walk, walking around the grand canal, so I ended up having a pretty decent length walk. It is now about 9 pm and it is once again pouring down outside and the wind has picked up too, so I feel very thankful for that window of opportunity this afternoon!
