Eye Specialist
Took Jade for her eye specialists appointment today. She's been going since she was 3, when we first discovered her left eye was lazy and she couldn't see very much through it apart from blobs of colour.
After a good 2 1/2 years of patching her eye and foils on her lenses, she eventually got to the point where she didn't need anything else but the lenses themselves to be able to see.
Last year, Jade was offered the opportunity to wear contact lenses, which she does now and then but generally finds her glasses a bit less of a faf as sometimes they can be tricky to put in!!
Today was a great turning point... Jade read an extra half line down than normal through her left eye and Suzanne (above) the lady that sees Jade at the Sehr Schule told us that she sees nearly as well with her left eye as she does with her right (thorugh her lenses). Jade also backed this up by asking Suzanne 'Which is my bad eye again?' Suzanne was delighted with this comment from Jade as was I, as it highlighted how well she now sees through her left eye!
Jade doesn't have to go back to they eye specialists until November, which is fantastic news. Way to go Jade!!
