White Lillies

Nearly at the end of their vase life, the lillies have had a great showing.

Living as close to the lake as I do, Ive had to be very carefull as to what Ive planted, as we lost some plants very early after planting, due to the wet.

These came to me via my Mum, via cousins in Paeroa. Mum is known to take plant cuttings from various places. These plants have probably been growing in the Paeroa garden, since my dad was a child and used to visit the house in Thames road to visit Aunty Vi and Pop.

Mum did ask if she could possibly split them up and take some home for me, when they were about to go to a funeral. Not an unusal request from my Mum and cousin Josie was happy to oblige and Mum went in search of the spade in the shed. Not one to let a good joke rest, cousin John did ask Mum at the cemetery if she was going to help hereself to flowers there too.

So they made the journey home and into my garden. My Paeroa plants have thrived and have since been added to with green ones from my friend Anita's garden in Ohiwa.
