Castle Dangerous!

Had a lovely walk in Douglas Estate through beautiful countryside. The first Douglas castle was built around 1288 but these are the remains of the one built in 1759 and demolished in 1938. Sir Walter Scott used the location and the early history of the Douglas family as inspiration for his novel Castle Dangerous.
