Bumbling back in time

That's me today, working as a busy bee this morning on my Garden Club history presentation. I'm steeped in the wording and teacups from the meeting minutes in 1929 and on.

I've put that project aside and plan to step out of our AC into the heat of the day to photograph a program at the Historical Society Museum...

Making Friends with Farm Animals

Join the Hanover Historical Society to get up close and personal with some traditional farm animals including chickens and rabbits. An educator from Soule Homestead Organic Farm & Education Center in Middleborough will speak about these animals and how to care for them. The program will allow children to interact with the animals and learn what life was like on a farm in mid 1800's New England. Staff members will bring out items from the Society’s collection that connects with animal husbandry and care. Children will have an opportunity to make butter and sample fresh dairy products such as milk, and ice cream. From this program children will be able to appreciate farm animals and understand where products like eggs, milk, and ice cream come from.

Program is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.

Interesting enough I'm a descendant of George Soule, Mayflower Pilgrim, on my dad's Josselyn side.

This day came in very hot with a return to summer weather. Everything is dry as a chip as Nora would say, we need rain.
