Opening Game
Most unusually the Colleccio skies are dark and dramatic! We are used to beautiful blinding blue and boiling heat. It was still pretty warm though.
Betsy played catcher in the last two innings in the first game. She has injured her leg somehow in training but it is strapped up with Union Jack-patterned Kineseology tape.
They played well in both games. In the second game Betsy got hit in the arm with the ball. She texted me later to say that it had left the imprints of the stitches on the ball in her arm. This is a badge of honour I think! She was more excited to report that they had chips for dinner.
Watching her play is one of my favourite things but I do get very anxious particularly when she is catching. The catcher dominates the game even more than the pitcher and is involved in 99% of the plays, even the balls and strikes. Its physically, emotionally and mentally draining. She has to play in heavy protective gear as well.
