Two and a bit bridges.
Taken through the train window hence the ghosting.
In the foreground is a tiny fraction of the old Forth Rail Bridge then the road bridge which is approaching its 50th birthday and, partially hidden by the road bridge, are the four support pillars for the New Forth Crossing which is due to open in 2016.
I did try to include a view of the new aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth but despite the size of the thing, just couldn't make it. Sorry!
This was a first for us today: as this was the last free day I will have before going into hospital, MaggieD and I took the train over the Forth Bridge. A brief journey from Dalmeny on the south side to Aberdour across the river and along the Fife coast.
We had a super morning with beautiful sunny weather and then down into South Queensferry for brunch in a restaurant with stunning views of the bridges.
Back home and it was soon time for Ali, Euan and Eve to come up for dinner. What a great way to finish the day off!
