The way we look at things
I couldn't sleep. I was just thinking about all the terrible problems in the world today, and that no matter what, I wouldn't be able to fix them all. Finally I gave up on sleep and went out to the kitchen for a drink, and I poured a glass of this apple juice, and I realized something. Even though there are people dying for terrible reasons, and children going hungry, and innocent animals being abused, the apple juice still tasted great. And then I felt selfish, because while other people were going through these unbelievable trials, I was enjoying a glass of juice. But that's what life is about, isn't it? Yea, there's terrible things happening, but there's also great things! Like right at this moment people are falling in love and living out their dreams and eating great food and laughing with their families. And I think that if more people thought about these wonderful things, the world would already be a better place, because we would be focusing on the good things instead of the bad. Maybe it's not the world that is our problem, but our perception of it. I think Dr. Wayne Dryer had it right when he said, "when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
