The times they are a-changing

I noticed lots of trees with autumnal colours breaking through as I drove to work this morning. I'm glad to live on a world that has seasons. Although I love the heat and longer days of summer I also like getting all wrapped up for winter.

As I write there is a gale blowing outside, though, and the trees are making a lot of swooshy noises. I woke up a couple of times last night as the rain was battering so noisily on the window.

The unpredictability of the effects of global warming is worrisome to me. There have definitely been examples of extreme weather conditions over the past few years. I do know that farmers in N Ireland may have to rethink the crops that they will grow in future years. Perhaps also in Southern England if they are in an area that is going to keep flooding.
