Flood Marker

This is the flood marker for the Muckle Spate of August 1829. It is 50 feet/17 metres above the normal river level. The river shown is the Divie, close to it's confluence with the Findhorn, near Randolph's Leap. The story goes that Sir Dick Lauder's manservant opened his umbrella to find a salmon inside it. Anyway,it was a lot of water!
