Amicitia

This seal in the iron gate of the renowned Peace Palace in the Hague drew my attention for today's journal entry.

As my knowledge to the Latin language is not what it used to be - and it never realy was ;) - made me wonder what the phrase 'Amicitia' could stand for. Use magnifying glass to read better ;-))

Ami sounds like the French word for 'friend', but what the heck is 'Citia'?

At home I looked it up and it stands for:
friendship, bond between friends, which fits a building like this indeed.
