Planting and hoping
Saw a good offer online, forty-eight mixed perennials for £10 - no named varieties, just a lucky dip.
So through the letter-box today dropped achillea, echinacea, nepeta, geum and salvia. By a happy coincidence, all attractive to bees !
Years ago, we used to drive regularly up the M23, past a pick-your-own strawberry field. A big sign stood next to the motorway advertising it with the slogan, " Planting and Hoping ".
Every summer the huge field was full of bright red strawberries. The hoping seemed to have paid off handsomely !
So that's what I'll be doing with these forty-eight tiddlers.
