What do you do in St Petersburg when you know you have only got a few hours?

Do you run around ticking off as many tourist sights as you can? Or be selective (highly selective in our case) picking off just one church, the church of the Spilled Blood , followed by a quick walking tour and a boat tip?

Traveling on the waterways through St Petersburg must rank as the best way to see this beautiful city now suffering from grid-lock.


So we joined a handful of Russians doing the same. In fact we had to wait until the boat had acquired ten passengers before it would sail.

Tonight we learn sadly that Russia has invaded Ukraine.
