Hanging Staines

The hanging staines from gallows which mark the spot where the last highway men in Scotland were executed in 1815. These are not far from our flat, like we did for years, people must drive over them ever day and just assume that it's another pothole. The spot also marks the site where the robbery took place.

I find them a bit eerie and interesting, they are another one of the hidden bits of history dotted around the country.
