The laughing sheep

Or possibly the swearing sheep - it certainly seemed to have a very strong opinion about Rosie!

Our last full day was excellent. The morning was a mix of sunshine and showers, so we stayed near the cottage. By lunchtime the sun was out, so we headed to Craig-y-Cilau NNR where we enjoyed glorious weather in a stunning landscape of limestone cliffs, rich with ferns, mosses and rare whitebeams.

There were also caves to explore- Chris and Alex went deep into one and found an overwintering population of Tissue moths - a very local species which is known to gather in such places, often in large numbers. This was a new species for all of us.

The day was the perfect end to a very memorable short break in a brilliant cottage - chopping wood with an axe , log fires every night and windows overlooking the river are some of the best features.
