Tower of London -- WWI Memorial

One of the first things I wanted to do when I was to London was to see the Tower of London's revolving installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, marking the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies will progressively fill the Tower’s famous moat.

Seeing the installation took my breath away. The lump in my throat was huge knowing that each poppy represented a person.
