Blue Mountains

Today we did a great hike in the blue mountains! We went to the wenthworth falls and walked the natural pass. Really beautiful and a great walk of around 4 hours! Some of the steps were quite steep were they were made out of rock but we were lucky enough to walk the really steep steps down.

Was really beautiful to walk here and to see some of these amazing waterfalls and nature.

I was also a bit lucky as I saw an echidna through the bushes. A man walking in the other direction was lucky enough as it was very close to the path and when we were walking there he pointed it out to us while it was a bit further in the bushes already.

Also saw a bird which was quite nice, but we're not really sure of what bird it is... Perhaps/probably a female lyrebird as it looks quite a bit like these ones

After our hike we decided to leave the blue mountains. Actually we planned to stay two nights but it was really too cold for us at night in our campervan. (If we had power and a heater it would be different...) Instead we got ourselves in another adventure...

We typed in a camping in our gps system but we realised when we were almost there it was probably a tent camping as it was still a bit of walking from the road... So we looked for another one and drove to that one. Standing in front of the gate of this place we realised it was not a camping. It kinda felt like we were in the middle of nowhere (even though we were not so far from Sydney). In the mean time it was already getting pretty dark (and driving in the dark in Australia isn't really a good idea...) Luckily a man in a car behind us was friendly enough to help us. He was going to search for a camping on his phone when he realised about a free place where we could stay. There were public toilets and there was even a restaurant. Sounded good, so we just drove the 10 km there. It appeared to be a place where the ferry was and there was a huge parking place so we stayed there for the night :)
