Stavros S Niarchos

The Stavros S Niarchos was built in Britain in 2000 and was commissioned by the Tall Ships Trust to take young people for sail training. The ship is 58.42 metres long and carries a total sail area of 949 sq metres consisting of seven staysails a spanker and ten square sails.

Over 97,000 young people have sailed in her and she has travelled some 1.8 million miles.

She was one of the many tall ships anchored in Falmouth harbour from all over the world, dressed with their national flags.
