A brief excursion

I had a half-hour break from the computer screen this afternoon, tempted by the dazzling sunlight and promises of mergansers and goosanders. The light was fabulous but the temperature was not - and I saw nothing more exotic than a whole bunch of mallards and tufted ducks squabbling over some bread. Best of an uninspiring bunch were these red twiggy bushes that were leaning over the water.

If only I had stayed out a little longer - I would have glimpsed, not a merganser, but the equally exotic Acronymphomania who was blipping nearby!
