Dunnock
This is such an unassuming little bird that I feel gets overlooked in favour of the more colourful species.
This little one spends a lot of time on the ground in the borders and occasionally hops up onto the bird bath to either bathe or drink. It isn't territorial and mixes with all the other species that frequent the garden and feeders. The bird book says of it 'a small unobtrusive bird, common in suburban gardens, parks, woodland and wild heathland alike'.
