Young at Heart

Today was a bit rubbish. Woke up with agonising toothache and had trip to dentist. Got home to find ridiculous letter from credit card company with unreasonable charges through a catalogue of mistakes (not mine!)
To cap it all I broke a nail!
But then I switched on the telly and Young At Heart, with Frank Sinatra and Doris Day was just starting. Frank has been my favourite singer since I was tiny when Dad always played his records. When I first saw this film I couldn't believe this skinny chap was the same as the older round faced blue eyed guy in the zip up cardy on the front of Dads 1960 and 70's come back albums. I soon discovered all about him and his film career and the Rat Pack, and the old Hollywood musicals.
I used to watch this film over and over when the video age arrived and know ever sugar coated word.
This photo was taken from my TV this pm, as Frank, desolate at the though of losing Doris to Gig Young, played 'it was just one of those things " alone in a bar, with cigarette smoke curling around him.
Classic Frank, classic Hollywood. And my day was better.
