Breaking The Ice

Spotted these swans standing on the icy canal near Torrance this morning.

By the time I had stopped the car and jumped out with the camera the lead swan (think he was the bloke swan) had broken through the ice and proceeded to push through the ice till they had quite an area to feed in.

I loved the noise it made as he crashed through and took a wee video to share with you.

I have a series of photographs from the first swan breaking through to them stepping out on to the grass to see if i had anything for them to eat, just dog biscuits I'm afraid and they were not impressed with those.
