Painful

Like RedFlash, I started the day in the spotlight, lying horizontally on a chair surrounded by lots of white tiles and persons with masks. Last annual dentist check up a few weeks ago had revealed it was time to do more than just the usual "polish & go". Full of anxiety (nearly 60 years of experience has taught me these events are never fun), the needle went in but disappointingly hardly felt it. The rest of the drilling, hammering, pushing, pulling all went by without the slightest twitch. The hole was borderline - just able to rescue it, at least for the time being. It's a temporary filling. Then he left and handed over to the female dental assistant. Women seem to be predestined to deal out a bit of pain. She set about sticking a needle in to every part of my mouth and calling out numbers - 3 was the best 5 the worst - apparently not a bad average. Then followed evn more torture - frozen instrument touched on every tooth until it hurt - not if it hurt but until it hurt. Then a 3D Xray so it seemed - not the normal small thing but a contraption that wizzed around my head. All part of a Periodontitis check I was told.

Once approved by the health insurance, I am promised another two sessions to have some further treatment. I don't want to know what it involves. Once the Periodontitis treatment has been proclaimed successful, I think the temporary filling make become an issue.

On the way home stopped quickly to photograph the car which I had seen on my way out, just a few hundred meters from the house. Looks like during the night a deer collision. On the very bottom of the driver side windscreen there is a section of broken/pushed in glass as if hit by a football. I think it might have been a deer's head and as the body wrapped itself around the car, the driver's door was ripped out from it's hinges. Otherwise there was no real damage. Didn't hear any shots, so suspect if it was a deer, it died on the spot. Will have to ask MrB when he's around if he has heard from Bello, the responsible hunter, if he had been called out by the police. By the way for all UK Blipers - look on the right of the picture and the right hand corner (as seen on your screen) of the car windscreen i.e. on the left hand side of the car. Time for the new EU commissioners to force the UK to drive on the right side of the road.

Angie has always warned against driving fast on this very straight part of the forest and I have to admit I am careful but probabyl in all other stretches of good forest road don't give it a thought.

Back home made use of the dry day to mow some horse fields. One near the house was OK but the field outside the property looked afterwards as though I had used a plough. With more rain due over the weekend, it had to be done at all costs.

Rain came in the evening and lots of it. There is a glimmer of hope that on Tuesday we will have rising temperatures.

Not the best day but at least I survived.
