A bit of Alan.

I did a spell of volunteering at Powis Castle this morning. Alan ( male peacock) was hiding as he tends to do as the Castle becomes busy. His patch is the front entrance to the Castle, and in the Spring and Summer Alan parades up and down the steps showing off his really fantastic tail. Alan has now molted, his tail feathers have been lost- and found by visitors- he's shy and obviously feels he has to get his mojo back, to do this he spends his days behind the tall bushes and up on the castle roof. I found this in his door-way this morning, so Alan hasn't completely forsaken his post.
