Digging in the garden

Soily nose!
For the last three days Hector has been worrying the water butt at the end of the garden returning indoors with muddy front paws. He has been scratching away trying to get to something. Don't know what. I have dunked him in the kitchen sink to clean the mud off.
Today I moved the water butt to prove to him there is nothing amiss and no creature living there.
Not sure if this has convinced him but needed to wash his paws again. Didn't notice the mud encrusted nose.
