Eric Appleby

I have blipped Eric before, on May 24th when he ran a parkrun on Newcastle's town moor for the 150th time.

This morning, this inspirational gentleman ran his 200th parkrun (at all venues). It has taken him just 236 Saturdays to achieve this, and but for a bout of illness in the early summer of 2012, he would probably have reached the landmark even sooner.
Just last month, Eric celebrated his 82nd birthday. He chose to do so by entering, and completing, a challenging 5 mile race !

We have a Phantom Cake Maker at Newcastle, the PCM. A mystery baker, who leaves cakes at the parkrun on special days such as today. Here, Eric is proudly displaying the latest creation of our answer to Mary Berry.
