Fabulous fossil
Early evening trip to Cocklawburn Beach - one of my favourite beaches in the area, partly because it's different each time we go there. Today great slabs of rock - limestone I think - had been exposed and, on them, hundreds of these trace fossils.
A Google search revealed that they're probably Parataenidium which are, apparently, back-filled tubular burrows, but it's not known which organism made them.
