The A1 is being widened so its a maximum of 50 for about 12 miles. Gives time to watch monster trucks passing by.

When finished it will be a three lane motorway from the M62 to Scotch Corner then it reverts to 2 lanes all the way to Newcastle which is a really busy bit. It wouldn't happen in the south.
