Class A

Back in 2005, this harmless-looking little mushroom was re-classified as a Class A drug. Had I picked it, (Possession) I could have gone to prison for up to 7 years. If I'd handed it to someone (Supply), that could be a life sentence. I hasten to add, I did neither - I just took its photo.
It is of course Psilosybe semilanceata, the Liberty Cap or Magic Mushroom.
I went to try and get a particular fungus shot today, but the fungus in question was well past its best, but it's early in the season so I'm hoping there will be more around before long. The recent cooler, damper weather is certainly bringing up the fungi now. I'm busy compiling a list from this small site, which runs into a couple of dozen.
