The Robie House

Today's highlight (so far) has been a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece built in 1910 but recently restored after, amazingly, being threatened with demolition. The house is adjacent to the campus of the University of Chicago. There, on Ellis Avenue, is Henry Moores "Nuclear Energy" which marks the location of the first self-sustaining controlled nuclear reaction, in December 1942. I am not sure whether to be proud.

Earlier, we walked down to watch the sunrise over Lake Michigan. Later this evening I am going to watch a baseball game - the Detroit Tigers at the Chicago White Sox.
