Peak District murders

I have read all these books set in the Peak District. What comes over every time regardless of the crime story and Police work is that the author Stephen Booth loves the area its geography and its history.

Can I recommend the book ?
- well I'm not really sure about that. I do wonder what it would be like to read just this book never having read the others in the series. I can recommend starting at the beginning with Black Dog (published 2000) and making up your own mind after that.
