Dusky rooftops

Today has been much better weatherwise, but I still didn't venture further than the newsagent. I'm hoping that this pretty sky, blipped from my kitchen window, is a good omen for tomorrow.

As a result of having caught the end of a feature on Jeremy Vine's radio programme yesterday, I have today bought one of the 888,246 ceramic poppies currently forming a magnificent display at the Tower of London to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. If they all get sold, they'll raise a lot of money for charity.

Am I the only one who finds Saturday night television dire? Roll on Strictly!
