Arrival at Star Island

Dear Diary,

Arrived on wonderful Star Island in the Isles of Shoals, New Hampshire today for a weekend contemplative photography retreat which I'm co-facilitating with Kim Manley Ort. I visited Star last year about this time and I'm thrilled to be back at this amazing location.

The theme of the weekend is "Pause, Focus and Connect". This morning I led a journal making exercise and this afternoon we spent on a contemplative stroll around the island. Tonight will be a candle light walk to the 1800 chapel.

This place is made for my kind of photography where you let the landscape direct your image making through meditation and visual listening.
