Poignant stuff

So we took baby S for his first trip into central London and as we got off at London Bridge we thought we should go and look at the new display of ceramic poppies at the Tower of London. It was quite moving to see so many of them, each of them representing a life lost in a terrible conflict.

I find it heartening though that there is such a concerted effort to keep the memories of WWI in peoples mind. Hopefully we will never see something on this scale again but we live in turbulent times.

We cheered ourselves with a big walk down the river, the boy seemed quite taken with things with lots of giggles and gurgles and was generally very chilled which was great. Turkish meze for lunch and then takeaway for tea, so a good day all round.
