Dizzying Heights

Alpine Loop is a magnificent drive through some really high mountains, a great deal of it 4 wheel drive country. This is taken from Engineers Pass - at 12,800 ft. The air is pretty thin up there.

You can see some of the 'fourteeners' in the distance. We were surrounded by magnificent peaks - truly the heart of the Rockies.
