The Minack Theatre
We watched Shakespeare's comedy play, 'Love's Labour's Lost' here, today, at this open air theatre at Porthcurno which is 4 miles from Land's end, Cornwall.
The fantastic theatre is constructed above a gully with a rocky granite outcrop jutting into the sea. It was the idea of Rowena Cade who (with her gardener) made a terrace and rough seating. Then, in 1932 the first play was performed with the sea as a dramatic backdrop!
It was the most wonderful place I have ever experienced to watch a production!
