Part of the generator

This is a view at the inside of the generator of unit EC 6.
Only a part because there were scaffolds at the lower part.
Normally the rotor is in the middle but it has been pulled out for inspection.
The white hoses are meant for cooling of the outer part; the so-called stator.
Special conditioned water (demineralized) is used for this purpose.
This is an extra because the main cooling is done by hydrogen under a pressure of appr. 4 bar.
The cooling effect of hydrogen is better than water and far better than air.
So in this way the generator can be kept compact.
The generator has a capacity of appr. 400 Megawatts.
