Baked Alaska

further to the Fake GBBO challenges that a splendid group of "Have a Go Hero" chums are taking part in

this week's prog was desserts, and for some reason it was the Baked Alaska concept that caught our imaginations.

This is my offering, a lovingly made sponge base, none of your dried up flan bases for me layered over with poached pears and a dash of the poaching syrup, enlivened with some Slivovitz, all smothered with the finest chocolate icecream that Mackies could offer and a simple meringue whisked up by hand...I think the exercise is good for me.

And no old WI ladies named Diana to whip it out of the freezer at a crucial moment...oooh bit of controversial there for you!!
