Edmund Blunden
Visit to the Eastbourne Redoubt, an old fort and military museum on the seafront. Like the Martello Towers it was part of the defence against invasion by Napoleon's troops.
I'm not keen on militaria, and gung-ho imperialism, but I was surprised to find this museum displayed a softer side with material about the effect of war on Sussex, and about this war poet, Edmund Blunden.
More on blipfolio. and here.
