A year of Glasgow

I was interested in this view because, according to a yes supporter I met recently, there is a massive secret oil field here. If Scotland becomes independent, Trident will go and be replaced by oil exploration. So this view will be full of oil rigs and associated paraphernalia. And the people who live in the area, who paid lots of money to wake up to this view, won't object at all because it's all for the good of Scotland. Aye right!

She also told me that in an independent Scotland, money from parking and speeding fines would stay in Scotland instead of being sent to England.

Both stories a lot of rubbish, of course, but she believed them because she'd heard them at a Yes meeting. Quite worrying that people believe that kind of thing and plan to vote on such misinformation.
