Memory book

"A Memory

at the shore of stream
stands a little blue flower
and she whispers silently
Svea, Svea, don't forget me"

This is a free translation of a poem in Swedish, by L. Lorch to my grandmother Svea Vickström in 1923. My grandmother was born in 1909 so she was 14 years at the time.

I had planned to photograph a fruit still life today. As I don't have a photography studio I had to make some refurnishing on the spot where there was good light. That was in our dining room.

Our dining table (heavy glass table) was in my way, and I had to move it. It took me a while. Finally I got the table moved, and I thought that I might as well look under the carpet, because the table has been there since we moved here (four years ago).

Well, it was not a pretty sight. I decided to take the carpet away, rolled it up and now it is waiting for my hubbie to take it out when he arrives from work. I bet it's not a lovely surprise. Having the table moved and the carpet removed, I decided to vacuum the floor. Then I washed it.

So all this has been done to be able to blip. Thanks to my beloved grandmother. I'm sure she looks from above and smiles at me. She's the one who always said to me not to use a lot of time to clean, because there are better things to do.

P.S. You might want to look at this as large.
