Heading home from Reykjavík

Today we woke up early (although rain and storm had actually kept me awake for most of the night) and began our journey home to Akureyri before 10:00.
This is the view just before passing Bifröst, Mt. Baula (in the middle) and Grábrók volcano in front (the one I walked earlier this month).

The volcanic eruption in Bárðarbunga/Holuhraun continued today and this time it was a lot bigger than on Friday. See live webcamera HERE. The press is overexcited while geologists are rather calm.

We were home around 15:00 (lunch in Staðarskáli) and had a lovely day unpacking, doing laundry and just enjoying finally being home again. I have lots and lots of photos to sort through so back-blipping will be on the agenda for the next few days.
