This weekend I got a very interesting challenge, I along with my friend Linda was asked to photograph the town festival.
The Birthday of Akureyri is celebrated annually on the last weekend of August. The opening ceremony of the festival always takes place on Friday evening in the Botanical Garden. The theme of the festival 2014 is “culture is for everybody”. Some of the highlights of the event are: Opening ceremony in the Botanical garden, Spooky evening in the old town, Science Centre and events along the Artist Alley. There were about 100 events going on all over town, it was a lot of work and a lot of fun photographing as many events as we could.
The girl on the photo took part in a "tweed ride" a tweed-themed bike ride all over town.
